Andoni Iraola has confirmed that he can not influence Antoine Semenyo’s future
Although he acknowledges that he has little influence over Antoine Semenyo’s destiny, Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has reaffirmed his desire to retain onto highly sought-after winger Antoine Semenyo.
The 25-year-old has been connected to Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City.
But according to new claims, Chelsea reportedly made an attempt to sign the former Bristol City forward in January.
When asked about Semenyo’s future, the Spanish manager responded, “Antoine Semenyo is with us right now.” He’s playing really well. I’m worried that he won’t be impacted.
“He’s played very well, he’s committed to the team and and I hope we can keep him. There are things happening out of our control.
“Antoine, for me, has been performing very well. The level of consistency has been very good since the beginning of the season.
“He’s very valuable for us – not just the numbers, but a lot of things
“You never know what is going to happen. In the summer there were a lot of movements. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the winter movements.
“At the end, you sign a contract and understand that both parties are happy. I hope we don’t lose him, but I don’t know,
“I can’t control what’s going to happen,” he added.
Semenyo, who signed a fresh contract until 2030, has a £65million release clause in January. He has enjoyed a strong 2025-26 campaign, providing eight goals and three assists in 16 Premier League appearances.
Semenyo will hope to continue his goalscoring form when Bournemouth host Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
