Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed confidence that his team can capitalize on Colombia’s shortcomings when the two nations meet in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The highly anticipated knockout fixture will take place tonight at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, with Colombia entering the contest after topping Group K without suffering a defeat.

Addressing reporters ahead of the match, Queiroz acknowledged Colombia’s quality but insisted that every team has areas that can be exposed.

“Our responsibility is to focus on our own football while identifying the spaces where Colombia can be challenged,” the Portuguese tactician said.

“No team is flawless. We have studied their game and will try to make the most of any weaknesses they have. At the same time, we must remain disciplined, confident, and mentally prepared. It promises to be an exciting contest regardless of the outcome.”

The 73-year-old also provided a squad update, revealing that defender Kojo Peprah Oppong is the only player unavailable for the crucial encounter.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 01:30 GMT.

Ghana’s appearance in the Round of 32 represents the Black Stars’ first return to the World Cup knockout rounds since their memorable run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 tournament.
