For the first time since 1988, Morocco will host the 24-team Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which offers festive season entertainment throughout North Africa’s chilly winter months.
The majority of the top teams on the continent will compete in the tournament, which was expanded to its present format in 2019. However, powerhouses Ghana are noticeably absent due to their failure to qualify.

Fixture schedule of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations
The tournament kicked off on Sunday, December 21st, at the newly renovated Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat as hosts Morocco open their Group A campaign against minnows Comoros.Â
This will be followed by 51 more matches, with 24 teams competing in the group stage and knockout stages over the next month.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, January 18th, with the final at the same venue in Rabat.
