“Your fans will add passion and color.” Infantino celebrates Ghana’s World Cup qualifying and looks forward to a repeat in 2010.
Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, has praised Ghanaian football supporters for their vibrancy, fervor, and enthusiasm on the international scene.
Infantino expressed delight over the Black Stars’ return to the FIFA World Cup and claimed that the team may repeat its historic quarterfinal performance in 2010.

In a video message following Ghana’s 1–0 victory over Comoros in Accra on Sunday, which sealed the country’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, Infantino commended both the players and their supporters for what he described as a defining moment for Ghana and Africa.
“Congratulations to the Black Stars on reaching the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time in history,” Infantino said.
“Your fans will bring color, style and passion to the greatest FIFA World Cup ever in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.”
The President of FIFA emphasized the distinct energy that Ghanaian football supporters contribute to international football, pointing out that their steadfast passion has always enhanced the World Cup experience.
According to him, the globe anticipates that same spirit reviving in North America.
He added that he hoped the Black Stars would have another successful season, evoking memories of the team’s historic run in South Africa in 2010, during which Ghana became just the third African country to get to the competition’s quarterfinals.
“We expect that your team will establish more global stars to follow in the footsteps of the famous team that made the quarter-finals of the tournament in South Africa in 2010,” he added.
“But for now, enjoy this special moment, and we cannot wait to see who the Black Stars will face when we have the final tournament draw on the fifth of December. See you all very soon. Well done. Congratulations. Bye.”
Ghana’s qualification marks their fifth World Cup appearance after debuting in 2006.
The four-time African champions will now turn their focus to preparations for the 2026 tournament, with the group stage draw set for December 5.
