Born and reared in Ghana, Salifu has chosen to play at the senior level for Benin.

Before joining Hearts of Oak in 2021, the inventive midfielder established himself in the Ghana Premier League with Eleven Wonders, where he was instrumental in the team’s FA Cup and league victories.

Since then, he has kept up his good work in Europe, assisting FC Drita in winning the Kosovo league.

Benin, together with Senegal, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been assigned to Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
