Gold Stars sack Frimpong Manso after CAF Champions League defeat

Frimpong Manso is fired by the Gold Stars following their CAF Champions League loss.

Following their defeat by Algerian team JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary phase, the Bibiani Gold Stars have formally split with head coach Frimpong Manso.

In the first leg of the preliminary round, the visitors easily won 0–2 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Due to the club’s quick response to the home loss, the seasoned trainer has been relieved of his responsibilities.

Gold Stars sack Frimpong Manso after CAF Champions League defeat

As the Miners look to overcome the deficit and maintain their continental campaign, Manso will not be traveling with the team to Algeria for the pivotal return match.

The former Kotoko man led the Miners to two titles during his short spell. He won the Ghana Premier League and GHALCA Top 4. Gold Stars are yet to announce who will take charge of the team on an interim basis for the second leg.
