Kurt Okraku urges support for Otto Addo ahead of 2026 World Cup

Kurt Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association, has praised Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s accomplishment of leading the national team to successive FIFA World Cup qualifying and urged for continuous support of the coach.

Addo returned to guide the squad through another qualifying campaign, and he is currently in his second tenure as head coach. After leading the Black Stars to the FIFA World Cup in 2022, the former Ghana star has since led the team’s successful campaign to earn a spot in the 2026 competition.

“The only Ghanaian to qualify the Black Stars for two World Cups is Otto Addo. Let’s honor and encourage him for that. “He did a good job,” Okraku told Asaase Radio.

As part of preparations for the global showpiece, the GFA has strengthened the technical setup with five new appointments. Assistant coaches Alain Ravera, Kim Grant, and Kim Lars Björkegren have joined the bench, alongside analyst José Daniel Martínez Alfonso and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi.

The additions are aimed at reinforcing the team’s technical, analytical, and physical preparation as Ghana builds towards the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
