Kwasi Sibo, a Ghanaian international, expressed his pleasure after the Black Stars’ great 2026 World Cup qualifying start.
Ghana narrowly defeated Mali to earn maximum points at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night, and the 27-year-old hefty midfielder won a late call-up to join the Black Stars. He immediately went into the starting lineup.
The hero was Alexander Djiku, who recently moved from Fenerbahce to Spartak Moscow, a Russian powerhouse, who scored the lone goal to seal the victory at home and increase their lead in Group I.

“An unforgettable day. All glory belong to Yahweh. There are no words to describe what I have experienced these past few days. THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has brought me here”
“I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful adventure. I am proud and grateful for the welcome I have received from my teammates and my country. It is the best gift possible. Debut, victory and one step closer to the World Cup” he wrote on Instagram.
With 19 points from eight games, the West African superpower leads Group I. Madagascar (16 points), Comoros (15 points), Mali (12 points), and Central Africa Republic (5) are next, while Chad just has one point.
In October, Ghana will reassemble for the last round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. Prior to facing Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Black Stars will play an away match against the Central African Republic.
