Salis Abdul Samed, a Ghanaian international, has alluded to defender Kojo Oppong Peprah’s impending call to the Black Stars.
Despite playing well for Nice this season, the 21-year-old left-back has not yet been called up to the Black Stars.
Oppong has now established himself as a vital element of the team after securing a summer transfer to the French Ligue 1 team during the summer transfer window. The quick-rising defender has played in every game for the team thus far and has been heavily featured in the first few weeks of the season.

However, Salis, who share the dressing room with the defender at Nice has hinted he could be invited for the upcoming international break.
“I knew him (as he played for Ghana’s U19s). He is a hard worker. The national team manager watched him a bit in the last match and he asked me about him. I said that he was a good guy who could help us and that he was strong defensively,” said Abdul Samed.
When asked if he will be able to attend the international break in October, Salis said, “I hope so.” The manager said, “We’ll see if he’ll be called up for the next international break.”
The final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will see Ghana return to action in October. The Black Stars are nearing qualification and currently lead Group I.
