Preview: Road To Division One: International Allies FC and Home Stars Face off in Crucial Decider.

History awaits Home Stars FC and International Allies FC as both teams square it off against each other in a crunchy final of the Volta Regional Division Two Middle League scheduled for Sunday 25th June 2023 at the Ho Sports Stadium.

The tournament which serves as a qualification to the national division one will pitch former division one side Inter Allies against Home Stars FC who are making their second middle league final in two years.

OFFICIAL: ASAMOAH GYAN ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT FROM FOOTBALL.

Asamoah Gyan announced his retirement from football at the age of 37 in a press statement released today Tuesday, 20th June, 2023.

Gyan began his career in 2003 with Ghanaian Premier League club Liberty Professionals and then spent three seasons with Serie A club Udinese which he spend three seasons via two seasons, In 2008, Gyan joined Ligue 1 club Rennes for two season.

On 31 August 2010, Gyan signed for Premier League club Sunderland on a four-year deal for a club record £13 million,however he joined Al Ain of the UAE Pro-League on loan in 2011 and became the league’s top-goalscorer, scoring 24 goals in 27 matches.

Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer for the Ghana national team, with 51 goals, also top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup with 6 goals.

ALL IS SET FOR 2022/2023 ADONAI ESTATE VOLTA REGIONAL DIVISION TWO MIDDLE LEAGUE.

The Ho sports stadium will be the center of attraction from the 17th day of June 2023 to 25th June 2023, as Eight division two clubs drawn from various part of Volta and Oti region will participate in this seasons division two middle league, in their quest to represent the region in next seasons National Division One League.

After several weeks of preliminary and Sub middle league matches played across the various match centers, eight teams will compete for the sole National Division One league slot available for Volta region.

No team from last season’s middle league made it to this year’s regional middle league, however this year’s middle league will see three new timer’s.

Home Stars FC and Bebeto Fc made a return to the middle league and have been drawn in group A alongside new entrance’s Burning Stars FC.

Former premier league side Inter Allies, and former Division One League side, Dynamo FC together with Yadzo Oti Warriors and new entrant Kopeyia United are drawn in group B.

IT TAKES MORE THAN BEING A GOOD PLAYER IN THE DOMESTIC LEAGUE TO PLAY FOR THE BLACK STARS – MOHAMMED GAGO

Former Ghana International and Nsoatreman FC head coach Mohammed Gago believes it is not all good players in the GPL can play for the Black Stars.

Despite coach Chris Hughton’s itinerant of match centers to scout players. The latest Black Stars squad for the upcoming game against Madagascar lacks home-based players.

With Antoine Semenyo out injured, Hughton selected Kwasi Okyere Wriedt over the leading goal scorer in Ghana’s Premier League, Abednego Tetteh. Questions have been raised over the decision, but Gago insists not all good players in the local league can play for the national team.

The local Scene is not like the International scene and wearing the national team jersey is not easy at all, he told Radio Gold.

“It’s not every player that is good on the local level at the same time can stand good at the national level.”
He added,
“It takes a lot of commitment, and we have to know that one player cannot change the Black Stars.”

Abedenego Tetteh is the leading top scorer with 16 goals in the Ghana Premier league whiles Okyere Kwasi Wriedt has bagged 3 goals for his side in the German Bundesliga 2.

Ghana will then play away to Madagascar on 18th June at Antananarivo in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

ADUANA FC: NANA AGYEMAN BADU PARK BANNED

Aduana stars have been handed a temporal banned from using Nana Agyeman Badu park as their home ground.

In a statement released by Ghana Football Association on their website today 3rd April 2023 read,

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has ordered a temporary ban on Aduana FC from using theNana Agyemang Badu I Park as its home venue with immediate effect.

This decision has become necessary due to the unfortunate incidents that occurred after the Match day 25 between Aduana FC and Tamale City FC (outside the park) played on April 2, 2023.

The decision is in accordance with the GFA Premier League Regulations Article 14(2) which states inter alia “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed.”’

The Competitions Department is therefore advised to determine the venue for the Club’s subsequent home matches in accordance with Article 14(3) Premier League Regulations.

This order is however is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee who have been charged to hear the case in accordance with the relevant Regulations.

Aduana Fc is currently on top of Ghana premier league with 44 points after 25 matches played.

Chris Hughton Appointed as new Black Stars Head Coach

Former Newcastle, Birmingham, Norwich and Nottingham Forest manager has been appointed by the Ghana Football Association as the new head coach of Black Stars.

In a statement by Ghana Football Association on their website read, “The Ghana Football Association has the pleasure to appoint Chris Hughton as Head Coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties.

“The appointment is in line with the vision of the GFA to continue with the project of building a formidable squad that started with Otto Addo in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.”

The 64-years old manager will be assisted by George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.

Chris had been technical advisor to the Black Stars for the last 12 months.

PRESENTED FIFA BADGES FOR THE

2023 SEASON

In an event that took place at the Ghana Football Association Secretariat on Tuesday January 24, 2023 in Accra, twenty (20) Male and Female Referees and Assistant Referees were presented FIFA badges for the 2023 season.

Top ranked referees in every member association of FIFA are given badges base on their performance during the previous year by the Classifications and Assessment Committee of FIFA.

The lists consist of six (6) male referees, Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea, Charles Benle Bulu, Adaare Abdul Latif, Benjamin Kwame Sefah, Latif Abdul Qadir and Julian Nii Akwa Nunoo.

Six (6) male Assistant referees,Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey, Paul Kwodwo Atimaka, Patrick Papala, Emmanuel Dolagbenu, Tijani Mohammed and Roland Nii Dodoo Addy.

Also, four (4) female referees,Juliet Appiah, Joyce Obenewah Appiah, Barikisu Salifu and Rita Nkansah Boateng and
four (4) female Assistant referees
Alice Farizua Chakule, Doris Essumang Darko, Mary Tei and Patricia Kyeraa.

SAD: FORMER GFA PRESIDENT AND CAF/FIFA MATCH COMMISSIONER ALHAJI MND JAWULA HAS PASSED ON

Former GFA President Alhaji MND Jawula has passed on,yesterday January 21st 2023, his family has confirmed.

He was Ghana Football Association president from 1997-2001, before he becoming the FA president, he lead Ghana’s U-17 team to Ecuador 1995 U-17 championship and Ghana won the ultimate trophy.

Who was Alhaji MND Jawula,

Alhaji Mohammed Nuru-Deen Jawula was born in 1949.

He attended Tamale Secondary school and gain admission to University of Cape Coast in 1968 to read Economics and English.

He worked as a teacher at Tamale Secondary school after graduating from University of Cape Coast in 1972

Alhaji Jawula was appointed as Assistant District Chief Executive in 1976 and subsequently as District Chief Executive from 1981-1983 for Gambaga/Nalerigu district.

Before his demise, he was chairman of GFA’s committee for Ghana’s Premier league.
