Football ‘4’ Girls: GFA, VRFA, and GES Collaborate to Promote Girls’ Football in Volta Region
From Tuesday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25, 2025, the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Technical Directorate and the Ghana Education Service (GES) will carry out the Football ‘4’ Girls initiative in the Volta Region.
The GFA’s Women’s Football Strategy, which aims to increase girls’ football participation and promote gender equality in the sport, heavily relies on grassroots football.

The three-day tournament, which is being organized in collaboration with the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA), will involve basic schools in the towns of Adidome and Sogakope, which are located in the Central Tongu and South Tongu districts.
The Football ‘4’ Girls programme is designed to empower and inspire young girls between the ages of 6 and 12 by introducing them to the game of football in a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment. This helps build confidence, develop foundational football skills, and foster interest in the sport from an early age.

By investing in young girls at the grassroots level, the Football Association hopes to lay a strong foundation for the next generation of female footballers in Ghana.
