The two defendants are no longer being represented by Crabbe & Co., the law firm that handled the matter before, according to sources close to the firm.

Due to claimed defamatory remarks broadcast on Angel FM’s platforms, John Paintsil is requesting GHS25 million in damages, of which GHS20 million is from Angel FM and GHS5 million is from Saddick Adams. Paintsil claims that the remarks have seriously damaged his reputation.

Due to Crabbe & Co.’s withdrawal from the case, neither defendant has legal representation at this time. Additionally, according to court documents, Saddick Adams and Angel Broadcasting Network have not submitted their witness testimonies in the continuing lawsuit, which is against the court’s instructions.

Legal commentators point out that the defendants might have to appear in person to answer the allegations if fresh counsel cannot be found before the next hearing.

Since the case is set to go to trial again in October 2025, the lack of witness statements may potentially have an impact on how their case is presented.

This development adds a new dimension to what has become a closely followed legal dispute between a prominent media house, a well-known journalist, and a former national football star.

Paintsil has maintained that he is seeking to vindicate his reputation through lawful means.
