Brandon Thomas Asante nets tenth goal of the season as Coventry City return to winning ways
Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas Asante extended Coventry City’s lead at the top of the English Championship standings by scoring his tenth league goal of the year.
At Coventry Building Society Arena, Frank Lampard’s team defeated Sheffield United 3-1 thanks to a late goal from Thomas Asante.
Sam MacCalum’s goal in the 25th minute put pressure on Coventry, who had lost their opening game of the season against Wrexham over the weekend, and the visitors broke the impasse.

But the league leaders recovered after halftime, with Tatsuhiro Sakamoto scoring the equalizer in the 49th minute thanks to a brilliant assist from Bobby Thomas.
Thomas went from provider to scorer, giving the hosts the lead on the hour mark.
Deep in extra time, Thomas Asante then sealed victory for Coventry, rolling the ball home from a Hajj Wright assist.
The Ghanaian attacker has now reached double figures in the league, making him Ghana’s most prolific scorer in Europe this season.
