The United Soccer League (USL) has congratulated Black Stars goalkeepers trainer Dan Gaspar following Ghana’s impressive goalless draw against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Gaspar, who joined Ghana’s technical team ahead of the tournament, has played a key role in the Black Stars’ defensive solidity. Under his guidance, Ghana have conceded just one goal in their last three matches, with the only strike coming in a 1-1 international friendly against Wales before the World Cup.
The experienced American coach was brought into the setup by head coach Carlos Queiroz and temporarily stepped away from his duties at Hartford Athletic to support Ghana’s World Cup campaign.
Following Ghana’s disciplined performance against England, the USL took to social media to praise Gaspar’s contribution.
“Congratulations to Hartford Athletic Goalkeeper Coach Dan Gaspar for helping Ghana earn a quality point against England today!” the league posted.
The USL oversees professional football competitions across the United States, including the division in which Hartford Athletic competes.
Gaspar will now look to continue Ghana’s strong defensive run alongside goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Benjamin Asare, both of whom have impressed during the tournament.
The Black Stars currently have four points from their opening two World Cup matches and will face Croatia in Philadelphia on Saturday as they aim to secure a place in the knockout stages.
